Not to leave you hangin'...
My court appearance was rescheduled a number of times again yesterday. It was a bummer. There were about eight of us, it turned out, who were all victims of the nefarious court-rescheduling villain.

Bad joke of the day: Postponement is murder...
Ok, so, after waiting for an hour at the courthouse, another guy and me were told to go home. They wanted us to come back at 8:30a this morning (Friday). Last night, I got another call… My appointment was pushed back to 10a.
Three hours to go. Who wants to bet that it’s going to be postponed again?

Gasoline, homicide, etc...
I put gas in the car this morning and it was $1.99 per gallon. Now we’re talkin’!

A "new Century," homicide, et cetera...
I failed to mention that we got the Buick back on Saturday night. Thankfully, a friend of my mother-in-law’s was able to get it fixed for much less than I was original quoted. (We’re talking a nearly $800 savings here folks, so don’t forget to shop around if you ever need something major done on your car!)

Live in Olathe!
Next Wednesday, I’ll be called as a witness in a homicide case.

I turned the heater on during my drive to work, a few thoughts on the "state" of our nation, and my talented tongue...
First of all, get your minds out of the gutter… I’m appalled!
Seriously, though, I had to turn the heater on in the car this morning. It was chilly!

I used to write songs...
Really. I did.
In fact, I was recently going through some of my archives, sorting through some material that I had started and never finished, and I came across this little ditty.

New animations at YouTube...
I've just added a bunch of new animations to YouTube.com. They're all pretty short -- some probably don't even deserve to be there.

American East
I heard a great interview on NPR this morning about a film that has just finished production called, American East (sorry, no link to an actuakl movie website). The film was made by two Muslims, a director and an actor who, after 9/11, both decided it was time to tell a real story about muslims living in America.
The director, Hesham Issawi, said something that has been haunting me since I heard it (note - ultra-paraphrased):

BlogMusik...
Wired Magazine describes BlogMusik.net as one of a few web-based applications that are "starting to look like the Web 2.0 version of the original Napster." Whatever they are, I do know one thing: they are very cool -- and most likely, won't last long.

Getting back to business, some thoughts on 9/11, etc...
Five years ago today, I had just moved out to Kansas City, Missouri, from Southern California. More on that in a minute, though...

Four years of wedded bliss...
Julianna,
My sweetest dream, my everything. My love for you grows with every blink and every breath. Thank you for being my best friend and my playmate.

Bet you couldn't list all of the uses of a butter knife...
Sorry for not posting sooner, but my mom is in town and I’m trying to limit my computer use while I’m at home.
I got my car back on Thursday evening. It was a tough decision—I could have just left it at th4e impound—but, in the end, I know it’s a good car that runs well. And, seeing that the perps only drove it fifty miles or so (it still had gas in the tank) I didn’t feel like it was tainted too badly.
