This place feels a bit...sketchy...

Ok, so this was supposed to be finished for Spring 2006, but, alas… Life happens, doesn’t it?

Likewise, I wasn’t quite up to my chops in , etc., etc., etc. (I’m a big whiner, no?)

But, the new design is finally complete!

Good quote to ponder...

, speaking of Christians:

We have overdone experience and have underdone growth.
From "Vision: The Cooperative Friends of Jesus - Part 4 of 6" at .

(Which, by the way, I could have pulled a hundred good quotes from, so go listen -- to the entire series, in fact!)

A wonderfully eloquent definition of the Eucharist by Mike King...

A couple of weeks ago, at , gave a sermon on . The message was a good one -- which I encourage you to listen to -- but what struck me most deeply was Mike's definition of the Eucharist.

Here is a short audio clip (1m19s) of what he said:

I've spoken a little about this before, but I don't think I could have said it this well.

Thanks, Mike.

Great weekend...

After a couple of weeks that totalled about 180 hours at work, I took an extended, 4-day weekend. It was full of some much needed rest and a lot of fun as well.

Mary Begemann On Friday, after sleeping in a little, Julianna and I prepared for a going away party that we hosted for our friend that night. Mary is leaving for Connecticut in a few days and we wanted to send her off in style (as you can plainly see in the photograph). The preparations went great and so did the party. We had a lot of fun, and I hope Mary was blessed by all of her loving family and friends.

Saturday was spent mostly cleaning up after the party and relaxing. But, Saturday night, as a one-day late birthday present, my mother-in-law offered to keep for the entire night. Julianna and I were able to go out for a wonderful sushi dinner and then we went to see two movies: The Da Vinci Code and X-Men: The Last Stand. Both movies had there ups and downs, but were both fun to watch.

Sunday, Julianna and I went to pick up Josiah and have lunch with the in-laws, which was very nice. Then, we came home to rest and pack for a picnic at one of our favorite parks. The weather was perfect, and we had a really good time.

Yesterday, we celebrated Josiah's 8-week birthday by going to a new water park in the area. You can read more about that here.

Now, I'm back at work... My former project is complete, so I don't think I'll be working any long hours this week. But, I'll always have our weekend to look back on.

Twenty-four hour party person...

That's me.

I'm six minutes past the twenty-four hour mark of working -- with a quick drive home to take a shower around 4am. I was just in the restroom here at work and I noticed that all of the grout lines between the tiles on the wall were moving and swaying like scratches on an old film strip.

The reason for all of this madness is a presentation that will soon be given to all of the director's and VPs of the company I work for. Ooh, fun. Well, for them.

But, as always, there's an issue. The project I am working on for the presentation (a thirty-minute video) is still rendering. And, I should be burning a DVD of it as I type.

I am hoping for a miracle.

A new webhost... Again...

This entry is mostly just a way for me to tell when my domain transfer has fully propagated across the internet. Of course, it's also a reason to actually use the word "propagated," so that works for me too.

I've transferred my websites between a lot of different webhosts over the last five or six years. It's not a pleasant task and always causes more than one thing to break in the process. But, I think I have all of the kinks at the new host worked out, so now all I'm doing is waiting.

The new webhost is . I've used them for a number of clients in the past and I've always had a great experience with them. I highly recommend them. And, now it's my turn to use them for my own stuff.

Now that everything is transferred and working, I really need to get back into the swing of things blog-wise... I still haven't updated you all with what has happened since I began my Blogfast.

More later, I guess!
