The good, the bad, and the emerging...

Jason Clark has just posted a “pros/cons” list, of sorts, about what he does and doesn’t like about the whole Emerging Church movement.

Without quoting anything from his post, I’ll just ask that you read it here.

Very interesting…and true.

I feel a little stupid saying this, but I had never even heard the phrase, “... the emerging church…” until I started looking at blogs.

From what I can tell, those involved with it seem to be sincere Christian People, looking for truth in the Word of God.

interesting. some stuff like experimenting make me immediately pull the reigns (you’re going “oh no, here we go again..haha) but then he talks about rediscovering liturgy and tradition.. he sounds a little inconsistent but i might not be totally understanding him. but i’ll look more into this guy… I’m just glad to have that same sense of home that others dont in their communal churches. that would.. suck.

Tim, I’m so glad you posted this. I totally agree with our friend Mr. Clark. Esp. after this past sunday’s experience at church here in Launceston…I don’t care to expound on it here. Anyway, I’m glad that others are learning about emergent through blogging—keep it up. And to Mr. Menace, I’ll say that I don’t think experimentation and a return to tradition are at all incompatible. Thanks for enlightening us Tim.
