This coming Friday...

Wrigley Field MarqueeI have a friend named Jason. Jason is…shall we say…obsessed with the Chicago Cubs. And, I mean, why shouldn’t he be? Millions of other people are also, no doubt, obsessed with American baseball’s greatest underdogs. Anyway, Jason is so overcome with “Cubsness,” that even though he lives here in Kansas City, Missouri, he has season tickets to the Cubs (and I won’t even get into the little ditty about an apartment…yeah, nevermind!). As an example of Jason’s — ahem — hobby, please read his latest Blog post.

So, it turns out that Jason just happens to have a couple of extra tickets to see the Cubs this Friday. He also has a couple of free airline tickets from frequent flier miles that are about to expire. And, Jason’s a pretty cool guy. And Julianna and I have never been to Chicago…

So, this Friday, Jason is giving us the tickets to fly up and see the Cubs play!

(Yes!)

When we get up there, Jason is going to meet us for lunch and take us to the stadium. I am so excited.

Thanks, in advance, Jason!

What a nice guy! I am soooo glad for you two getting a wonderful opportunity. If you have some time, you might want to check out the Russian Tea Room (my favorite restaurant in Chicago). It is within a couple blooks of the Art Gallery and is a wonderful restaurant for lunch. :) Have a wonderful time.

Doug – I have heard of the Russian Tea room, but never been there – I should be in Chicago for a while soon, so I’ll make sure to check it out.
Tim – I would encourage you to look closely at the standings, and familiarize yourself with the scenario you and Julianna will be watching play out at Wrigley on Friday – if the Cubs keep winning (they won tonight) and the Giants, Padres and Astros keep losing, we’re in the post-season! I’m VERY excited about this weekend – so glad you and Julianna can share it with me (and realize how obsessed I am) – oh, did I mention the beer was on you?

Just a little info for you baseball fans. The Houston Astros are leading (3 games to play)from being in the playoffs followed by the Chicago Cubs (4 games to play)and San Francisco Giants(4 games to play) each behind the Houston Astros by 1/2 of a game. The San Diego Padres are 2 1/2 games with (4 games to play). 4 team race for the playoffs. Hopefully, I will hear, “Cubs win” (Harry Carey) when you get back. GOOOO CUBBIES!!!!!!
