Informatio:

Happy New Year (Blog Sabbatical 2005)...

SabbaticalI have decided to take January off from blogging. This will be sort of a forced sabbatical — I am not feeling overwhelmed or dismayed or any of the other things people usually feel when they decide to take a sabbatical or Blogfast — I even feel like I have a bunch of things that probably need to be said as the new year begins… But, I also think it’s necessary that I remove myself from the writing role for a little while and just read (yes, I will still be reading others’ Blogs, so this isn’t a total Blogfast per se — and commenting when I can).

I do have one entry to post this month, though: a retrospective collage of my part in grid::blog | Project 365... I don’t know when I will complete it, but it will show up sometime in January.

So…with that said:

Happy New Year!

Thank you for making this year fun for me.

I pray for peace and joy and the love of Jesus Christ to be upon you. I pray for new revelations and a deeper understanding of God’s Kingdom. I pray that our goals shift away from our personal minutiae and toward a global gospel. I pray that we learn to love others in the same way that we love ourselves…our countries…our ideals…our theologies…our friends…our possessions.

May God’s grace extend to all nations and all peoples, all tribes and all communities, all families and all households. May our lives reflect the miracles of God, the acceptance of Christ, and the fruits of the Holy Spirit.

Blessing on all of you.

Here’s wishing you an enjoyable and productive sabbatical! In the meantime, I’ll bring myself up to date on your grid::blog project.

I look forward to your return. I always enjoy your blog entries, as they frequently lead me to new areas on the web or give me a fresh perspective on an issue I’ve been pondering. Again, thanks for your past posts, and anticipating your return. Have a happy and productive January.

Have a great January, Tim! I’m glad you waited until after the hols to take your sabbatical. It was difficult waiting for so many bloggers to return from their breaks! Yeah. I’m an addict…. :)

A month’s sabbatical from blogging? Wow! Good luck and I admire your resolve.

Just to show how nerdy I am, I think if I had to forego blogging for a month, I wouldn’t be able to say my name ;)
