My wife just left me...

I just dropped my wife off at the airport. She’s going to a work-related conference in Louisianna. Guess it serves me right for leaving her twice in the past month or so. But, she’ll only be gone until Friday evening, so I shouldn’t complain too much.

Of the many things I have planned (that’s sarcasm, by the way), I will be renting a few movies that I haven’t yet seen because Julianna won’t watch them with me… I’ll be choosing from:

As you can see, I’ve got a few to choose from. And, since I only have an evening or two, I’d better choose carefully. Out of these films, are there any that you’d choose over the rest?

Don’t get me wrong… It will be fun to finally see some of these movies, but I’ll miss my wife more.

Ditch Riddick, but don’t you dare miss Hero.

The Village is clever, but I thought that The Forgotten was nowhere near as good as it seemed when I saw the trailer.

*Life and Death of Peter Sellers *is nothing special, although it is well acted and, if you need some biography to balance out all of that swordplay and death, it might be a good palate cleanser.

Hero was great, and I think the Village is worth seeing.

I couldn’t hardly handle the trailers for Riddick, so I have no idea how you could consider stomaching the whole movie…

Deanne ~ Well, see? Why do you think I have to wait for Julianna to leave to see these movies?! ;-)

Graham & John ~ Sorry, but I really liked Pitch Black. I thought it was a very uniquely done sci-fi thriller… And I liked the Riddick character too.

As for Hero… That will be on the “yes” list.

Anyone else?

See Primer. Great independent film, especially from the mind of a college math major who never acted or wrote any kind of script. Plus this guy’s from my hometown of Longview, TX.

I’ll agree with Graham that Forgotten was pretty lame. They did a good job of advertising it but overall it was not worth the time.

Ok… So far I have:
Riddick (hehe!)
Hero
Primer
The Village

That may be enough, but I’d love any other suggestions.

Yep, hilarious. someone beat me to it. Ditch Riddick… that’s exactly what i thought before i even saw previous posts. she’s right. and White Noise was good but not great.

oh yea…...also.. dude, the visuals in Hero were great but i thought it was way overrated and slow. however… thats just cautionary and my opinion. but i do wish i hadn’t bought it.

The Village was pretty interesting… a commentary on organized religion. Check out My Name is David.

Primer, trippy stuff. DONT watch Forgotten or Open Water, House of the Flying Daggers has some very Eyegasmic visuals & Riddick is mindless good fun.

Ok… I began watching The Chronicles of Riddick last night. So far, it hasn’t dissapointed — except that maybe it isn’t as exciting as Pitch Black. But, I didn’t make it all the way through due to the miraculous powers of Tylenol’s Simply Sleep (oops!). I will finish it when I get home.

I ended up with these movies:
– Riddick
– Hero
– Kill Bill 1&2
– Primer
– The Village

I don’t know how I’m going to finish them all by tomorrow evening, but, by golly, I’m gonna try!
