Informatio:

Mexican Commercial Furniture...

We got a call from a representative tonight. He informed me that there were a couple of charges on our that he didn’t think were ours. The last charge in the Kansas City area was at Spice of Life (the cafeteria where works — a place in which, earlier today, an ominous questions popped into her head: What if we didn’t have enough funds in our account to pay for this? What would I do? Weird, no?). Anyway, after the charge at the cafeteria, there were two more charges…in Mexico…for “commercial furniture.”

What is “commercial furniture” anyway?!

Here’s one link I found via Google (looks like regular, everyday furniture to me — and, yeah, I’m aware that “commercial” most likely means that you can by it by volume — I’m trying to be sarcastic here).

But in Mexico?!

Sure, why not.

Now, we’ve got to go through the ordeal of cancelling our cards and getting new PINs, etc. Ugh.

So… Thanks, Commerce Bank, for catching the fraudulent charges.

Update: After talking to the bank today, I found out that there was a third charge to a restaurant, called “Darma,” for $87. At least they ate well.

I hope you don’t make anything out of me being in Mexico while this happened. My new south of the border office furniture looks nice though, believe me it is just a coincidence.

Hmmm… I did have my suspicions, Mike. But, I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt and accept that it’s a coincidence… This time. ;-)

Leave the sarcasm to me. Dude, saw an article in the news about card numbers being stolen online. sucks!! Very cool that your bank caught on. sucks you have to go through that though. had that happen to me once.

Well, at least this is easier than having all of my credit cards stolen (which I’ve had happen before). Thank God for perceptive banks!

Yeah, I know all about identity theft — been reading/hearing about it for years… This is probably the first time I’ve ever been a victim. Still, it was caught pretty quickly.

I’m still trying to figure out how they used our card number at a restaurant if they didn’t actually have a card on them… Can you just give the waiter a number?

huh…. good question. very likely they had a card made or something with those numbers on it. or Jullianna didn’t feel like sharing her food with you.

Yeah, but, man… That’s a nice dinner for her not to share… I mean, $87?! ;-)
