"Evil in their hearts..."

Scene from London, July 7, 2005 -- via MSNBC.com

Evil in their hearts…
Those are George W. Bush’s words from a speech concerning the terror-linked bombings in London this morning, not mine. Bush also promised that “we” would continue to:
...spread an ideology hope of and compassion that will overwhelm their idology of hate.
Tony Blair has stated:
Whatever they do it is our determination that they will never succeed in destroying what we hold dear in this country and other civilized nations throughout the world.
For some reason, I tend to enjoy listening to Tony Blair more than I do Bush. Maybe it’s the difference in accents, or just maybe it’s just my own biases. For some reason he just sounds so much more inherently compassionate than Bush does. I don’t know…

In any case, pray for those who have been injured in London this morning, as well as those who have lost loved ones in the blasts. This is a truly horrible way to start the day.

Update: I got the photo shown here from ... Here are a bunch of photos taken by other citizens at .

Seems like an evil and hateful incident to me. However, I agree, I will pray with you for those families and individuals affected by this terrible tragedy.

Blair also called the acts barbaric. barbaric vs. evil in their hearts. seems semantic to me.

I didn’t write this to argue the validity of world leaders’ verbal capabilities and word-choices. We all have our opinions and I can’t separate my view of world events from my own.

The fact is, is that 33 people have now been found dead and many more are wounded because of this horrible tragedy.

This incident made me cry. How terrible.

And I agree with you; Tony Blair does sound more inherently compassionate. He is certainly more well-spoken than Bush. Word choice is important, and Blair seems to have a handle on it.

Tim:

I agree, no matter what’s said, all those feeling the effects of this action need our prayers. I believe we need to pray for those who perpetrated this disaster as well as those who applaud it. They all definately need our prayers and compassion.

You are so right, Larry… Prayer should not be limited to those whom the world labels as “evil.” God can change the hearts of anyone.

timsamoff () (URL) - July 07, 2005 at 10:43 am

or “barbaric”. I agree God can change anyone.

At the risk of sounding redneck, which is fine, everyone of those responsible deserves to die. Salvation is still thier option, but punishment is not. Hang ‘em high.

dennisthemenace () - July 07, 2005 at 6:57 pm

And yea, Blair should apply for Bush’s job. I’ll give you that.
