What better way to fight London Terror than with British theatre?

A bunch of us got together for last night. The presentation this year is , which is a wonderful, light-hearted love story, chock full of humorous moments, that is easy enough to follow even for the most under-prepared Shakespeare novice.

I Gave of My Own Free Will'Much Ado About Nothing,
While I’m not actually saying that theatre fights terrorism, it certainly is good for taking one’s mind off of the more…tragic times in life. The tradition, here in Kansas City, is that of getting large groups of people together to eat lots of food and drink lots of wine while watching professional actors play out a twist of classic Shakespeare. It’s great fun that I’d suggest to anyone.

Tim~
hey I was checking out some peoples blogs and like how they posted books they’re reading. I’ve got the same thing on mine but went through the process of using flickr pics of the books instead of a link to amazon or barnes and noble or anything…how in the world do I set that up? I’ve played with it in my template but am unsure how it works. I figured if anyone knew and could explain you could…any suggestions? (ie like on Mike King and Keel’s blogs)
Love to hear any advice

How fun, I’ve always wanted to do Shakespeare in the Park! That is a great way to take your mind off things. I’m doing so by going to a show in Philly tonite, the Young Dubliners playing at World Cafe Live. Supporting the Irish isn’t quite like supporting the British, but they’re at least geographically close…

Don’t tell the Irish they’re at all like the British, you’ll have a fight on your hands.

Dude, this is sooo cool. Where is this at? is it really in some park with sets and stuff? very interesting. How uppity (which i typically cant stand) but actually sounds fun. Not much of wine guy. Wine tasters in LA like at the norah jones show…ugh. talk about wanting to pound someone. a bunch of drunken rich kids ruining the show. However, i did start reading Hamlet (which i never actually finished) but enjoyed it. as always, i put it down and started onto something else and never picked it up again. i hate that!! so, yea, this sounds fun.

Definitely a fun time — I’ve been the last four years in a…well, not in a row… Last year, a certain bizarre medical incident kept me from going.

It is a bit uppity, but for most who attend, it is their one time a year to be that way (myself included). ;-)

Anyway, they’re pretty much in most major cities… In fact, Dennis, yours is going on right now:

(And, coincidentally, they’re doing Hamlet!)
