Great weekend...
After a couple of weeks that totalled about 180 hours at work, I took an extended, 4-day weekend. It was full of some much needed rest and a lot of fun as well.
On Friday, after sleeping in a little, Julianna and I prepared for a going away party that we hosted for our friend Mary that night. Mary is leaving for Connecticut in a few days and we wanted to send her off in style (as you can plainly see in the photograph). The preparations went great and so did the party. We had a lot of fun, and I hope Mary was blessed by all of her loving family and friends.Saturday was spent mostly cleaning up after the party and relaxing. But, Saturday night, as a one-day late birthday present, my mother-in-law offered to keep Josiah for the entire night. Julianna and I were able to go out for a wonderful sushi dinner and then we went to see two movies: The Da Vinci Code and X-Men: The Last Stand. Both movies had there ups and downs, but were both fun to watch.
Sunday, Julianna and I went to pick up Josiah and have lunch with the in-laws, which was very nice. Then, we came home to rest and pack for a picnic at one of our favorite parks. The weather was perfect, and we had a really good time.
Yesterday, we celebrated Josiah's 8-week birthday by going to a new water park in the area. You can read more about that here.
Now, I'm back at work... My former project is complete, so I don't think I'll be working any long hours this week. But, I'll always have our weekend to look back on.

That was the best party EVER! I felt very well-loved and appreciated. Thanks for throwing it for me! (I’m not sure I’m thankful for that photo, though; couldn’t we have gone for something that would make me look more like a supermodel?)

Thanks, Christine!
Mary… You DO look like a supermodel — for the US of A! That’s right.
