The Top 100... Plus some...

Blogging/Podcasting maniac, and friend, has just begun posting his Top 100 Life Changing Albums. He started with 100-91 and you should check them out — there are some really good ones there.

During this journey, he has asked a number of us to write some commentary on our own Top 10 Life Changing Albums. He’s just posted mine here (which actually equal 11, because, well, just because).

Let me know what you think (especially you, Dennis!).

As I suspected, your choices seem to resemble a general time frame(As mine would also). Mine would include weezer, foo fighters, fountains of wayne…and such. I personaly couldn’t put albums from eras gone by on the list because I didn’t experience them in the truest form. For example Led Zepplin deserves to be heard at least once on vinyl with some old rediculously large zenith speakers from the 70’s or 80’s.

Randy – You’re certainly correct about Led Zeppelin. It’s even better if the album has a few scratches in it, for effect.

Hmmm… I wonder how much I could get for my old, scratched up Zeppelin records… ;-)

haha… thanks. well, dont want to disappoint! Dude, thats a pretty rad list! You mentioned Journey, Misfits and Iron Maiden all in the same top 10. A man who sees things my way, i like that. Only difference for me would be replacing Motley’s Shout at the Devil with Pyromania and i’m not really a ska fan but English Beat was pretty cool. For me i would have to replace that though with Soundgarden. And i would have to fit the Posies’ Frosting on the Beater, Jellyfish’s Bellybutton and Metallica’s Master of Puppets in there somewhere. But that was a great list!!!! The metal gods grin upon you.

Well, I could have added some of those too, if I were doing my top 20! :-D

But, I never was a huge Crue fan, so I don’t think I’d even put them in my top 100. And, Metallica’s “...And Justice For All” would be my pick over “Master of Puppets” (but, that’s just me).
