I turned the heater on during my drive to work, a few thoughts on the "state" of our nation, and my talented tongue...

First of all, get your minds out of the gutter… I’m appalled!

Seriously, though, I had to turn the heater on in the car this morning. It was chilly!

Heil who?On the long, cold drive, I was keeping myself occupied by listening, as I often do, to . One of the items shared on was the debacle concerning the Muslim Canadian citizen, . Listen to the story here. And, really, you should click on Maher’s name to learn more about him.

Again, I am appalled. Are we living in a police state, or what?

I neglected to mention a funny story that involved my favorite coffee and a new-found respect for my taste buds recently. You see many months ago, I realized that my favorite coffe was taken off of the market. It was called Red Eye. Red Eye is made by a local coffee company here in Kansas City called (I forget if I’ve mentioned them before). Anyway, I was saddened by this loss, but proceeded to try all of the other coffees in their “Dark Line” one more time — the reason I ended up liking Red Eye so much was because I had already gone through most of The Roasterie’s coffees before.

The Roasterie - Dark Mojo I ended up choosing a newer coffee called Dark Mojo. In fact, I loved Dark Mojo! It is full-bodied, rich, and strong, yet not bitter and doesn’t leave a sour aftertaste. I was in love with a coffee again.

So, to make this story even longer… Through an idea I had for my workplace I ended up getting in contact with a few people from The Roasterie — who are all very nice and accomodating, by the way. Over the course of a few days I had mentioned my lost love, Red Eye, and how I had settled on Dark Mojo as a replacement.

Here’s the funny part: because of some copyright issues, The Roasterie had to take Red Eye off the shelves and repackage and rename it. Guess what they called it. Yep, Dark Mojo.

So, my friends, if you ever need someone to taste test a coffee for you, let me know… Maybe we can work something out.

you’d be perfect for the coke/pepsi challenge!

Yeah, I did that way back when, but I think the thing was rigged. I would have sworn on the bible that I tasted Pepsi, but when they revealed it, it was Coke. Maybe my tastebuds just weren’t as well-developed, though… Hmmm… Or, maybe I just like coffee more!
