FedUp with FedEx...

A few weeks ago, my wife and I ordered an area rug for our living room. We had done some physical shopping for the rug, but just couldn’t find anything we liked. So, we ordered it online — by that time, we had shopped at least enough to know what kind of material we wanted the rug to be made of as well as the style we wanted. We got a great price and free shipping through . We were excited to soon receive the rug of our dreams.

After an unexplained two days in Pennsylvania (as you’ll see below), the rug arrived in Kansas City last Monday (four days ago). But, it still hasn’t reached our door step. Ok, so, check out the FedEx tracking report:

So far, there has been one “delivery restriction” (whatever that means) and two “local weather delays.” The funny thing is, I have seen a number FedEx trucks in my neighborhood this week. Every time I call, I’m greeted with a rude FedEx representative who makes me feel like I’m dumb for calling. And, when I attempt to schedule a pickup, they tell me that I can’t do that while my package is on a truck. The thing is, my package has been on a truck for two days now!

ExFedI really do hope that the rug arrive at our house today. If not, I don’t really know what to do next. I’ve had my fill with speaking to the representatives, but I know I will have to again.

I’ve never really had this sort of bad service experience with FedEx before, but at this point, I am really fed up with them.

Update: It’s 9:25pm and we didn’t receive anything. The strange thing is that the FedEx tracking info hasn’t been updated yet — it still says that our package is scheduled for delivery. The past few days have yielded new info on the tracking site by no later than 6:00pm. But, I’m not placing any bets that we will still receive it tonight.

being a fan of fedex, i didn’t like what i was reading… sounds like the holiday (the 15th) and the ice storm aftermath doomed you! sorry….. glad you finally got your goods…

Well, I’ve always been a fan of FedEx too — it’s probably why I needed to rant in the first place.

I do understand the circumstances (although, FedEx was NOT closed on the holiday — for some reason, they thought our home was a business), but I do not understand the 6-8 rude representatives… I’m glad my final correspondence was with someone very polite and helpful.
