Williams vs. Bush...
The other day, I listened to the Juan Williams interview of George W. Bush on NPR and I thought I’d summarize for y’all (sorry I’m a bit late with it)...
- Throughout America’s history, there have been popular presidents and presidents who are right — presidents who don’t compromise their principles.
- In order to prove that he has principles, President Bush doesn’t mind not being popular.
- Defensiveness must be one of Bush’s principles.
- Bush is going to let history be the judge of his principles.
- If you don’t believe President Bush is right (especially you, Congress), then all you probably need is a little more convincing (not that you, Congress, can do anything anyway).
- The current emphasis in the Bush administration is Global Warm… No, wait, it’s still the Global War on Terror.
- President Bush is happy to talk with external committee and consultants…as long as they agree with him.
- This war is going to be a long one and, by golly, President Bush is going to help its longevity no matter what.
- Sorry, future presidents, Bush thinks that ending the war is up to you.
- By the way, enough has been said about the Katrina disaster in New Orleans, so let’s just not go there, ok?
Thank you, Mr. President.

I too give my thanks for Bush. At least he isn’t a Neville Chamberlain. :)

Wait… Who was giving thanks? Everything I posted here was harsh critique that I meant… Oh, why am I even trying to explain?!

Tim, I knew you were being harsh (sarcastic, etc.). I was really being humorous (and punny with the “thanks”) and really celebrating our differences. :) The first part you stated actually didn’t seem harsh and I rather agreed with it. Just acknowledging where I agree. :)
