One week to go...

I’ve got one week to go until the surgery. This afternoon, I’ll be heading over to see my doctor for a release appointment. They have to do a few tests and send some paperwork over to my surgeon, stating that he is free to remove a major part of my skeleton. It’s really all just an annoying formality.

VicodinI had a depressing revelation the other day: I actually need my pain medication at this point.

Sometime, late morning, I realized that I had forgot to take a pill. I remembered, because when I tried to walk up the stairs, I couldn’t. It just hurt too bad.

It’s depressing, because I hate to be reliant on something like pain medication. I thought that the pills were just a luxury for me to use while I awaited the surgery. But, I guess they’re more important to my body that I thought. And, if I don’t take them, I’m in a ton of pain.

So, in a way, I’m really looking forward to the surgery next Tuesday. Of course, I’m dreading it as well. But, everything seems to be in-line and I’m wrapping up everything at work in a fairly tidy manor.

Tuesday, you cannot come too soon.

We’ll be praying for you over here in Cali. It’s on our calendar and everything. Serious – my mom has calendars dating back to timbuktu and it’s pretty amazing looking back at them.

Godspeed.
