"Dirty Thirty"
The other day, our friend Leslie (sorry if the link doesn’t work) commented on Julianna’s 30th birthday — which is today, by the way — as being her “Dirty Thirty.” (Leslie’s “Dirty Thirty” is coming up as well.) Have you ever heard of such a thing?!
Googling “Dirty Thirty” came up with all sorts of newsworthy results (and some not so newsworthy), but none seemed to point to a description of one’s 30th birthday. So, kudos to Leslie if she’s the one who came up with the term. Everyone should adopt it. (Even though I’m not even sure if I remember my own “Dirty Thirty.”)
Julianna’s birthday shindig(s) tonight were supposed to be surprises. But, as she always does, Julianna found out something is happening. She still doesn’t know what’s actually going on, though.
Trying to manage surprises is always such a task. Especially when they have to do with the super-sleuth that Julianna seems to be. I don’t think I’ve ever pulled one surprise over on her successfully.
This time, thankfully, there may actually be a few legitimate surprises. One is this amazing cake. It was lovingly baked, carved, and decorated by our friend Mary. Thank you, Mary! (That pink & black theme will be found throughout the festivities tonight.)
So, please take a moment to wish Julianna a happy “Dirty Thirty”!
(Truth be told, she can pass for a young 23.)
