Informatio: , ,

And just when people were starting to get used to it...

So, I’ve been getting flashes of an idea for a new blog design. Yeah, I know… This one has only been around since… June 2006!

Man, maybe it is about time, eh?

The new design will lose the sketchy look, integrate a whole bunch more effects, and otherwise be a little more interactive and easy-to-use. (I’ll even try to create something that works a little better for mobile devices too — although, I don’t know yet if it’ll be a completely separate design or part of the primary one.)

But, no promises yet, all right? Like I said, I’m just getting some flashes right now.

More later…

Well, I for one can’t wait to see what you come up with. I think this is one of the most original designs I’ve ever seen. I really like the “sketchy” theme.

FWIW, I found this blog while researching the n800 (which I’ve had now for a few weeks). I hope you don’t mind occasional visits from a staunch atheist. Maybe it redeems me a bit that I, too, am a hack philosopher wannabe. (Although one salient difference may be that I actually get paid to be a hack philosopher. As you might imagine, however, I don’t get paid all that much…)

Anon ~ Atheists welcome. Please do continue visiting! I must say… Being paid for philosophizing (no matter how much or how little) has me a bit envious!

I’m glad you like the design… The next one may be a complete 180, so I hope people continue liking. ;-)

A new design here would certainely be intersting. I really like this design too. The only caution I would say about doing something mobile-friendly is to make sure that you have a specific set of mobile devices that you are focusing on. When you get to trying to cover every type of mobile device out there, it can get hairy.

Blessings.

Thanks, Antoine… Yeah, the mobile design will keep those things in mind — and I’m leaning towards a style switcher now that I’ve begun thinking more about it.

I use a simple style switcher on MMM and my personal site (antoinerjwright.com); and its on the latter that I tend to go a bit more drastic with the changes. Personally, I like the style switcher for that reason. Its made me code in such a way that I have to think print, screen, mobile, and everything else; after that the design is whatever goal/thought I want to reach for.

My thoughts exactly! :-)
