Informatio:

Just for "fun"...

I went to see my hip surgeon yesterday because I’m still having some pain in my hip and leg — which isn’t entirely normal at this stage in recovery. They took some more X-rays and found something that looked a little odd…

Possible fracture? It could be that the area in question is just a “vascular channel,” but it also looks a little like a nondisplaced fracture. (Check out the picture to see exactly what I’m referring to.) Of course, I’m hoping that it’s just a vascular channel — or maybe even an anomaly in the X-ray film. In any case, I need to schedule another CT scan so that we can be sure. And, until I know any different, I’m back on the cane. Ugh.

If it does turn out to be a fracture, the good news is that it’s still “nondisplaced,” meaning that the bone is still in tact and where it’s supposed to be. But, it will mean that I am going to have to keep my weight off of the leg until it has a chance to heal. This won’t be very fun for a few different reasons. One of the more immediate reasons is that, because I’ve been avoiding weight on my left leg for so long, it’s become very emaciated — in fact, it’s probably half the size of my right leg at this point. So, the aspect of keeping weight off of it for even longer isn’t very appeasing.

I’ll update you more after I get the CT scan.
